Three types of Hardships: Test Two.

Assalaam alaikum,

The second type of test or Hardship [azmaish] is actually a Test from Allah to elevate His servant up to the higher echelons [steps] of all Mankind. [‘Allah apne bande ko, uske darajat buland kerne ke liye, azmata hai’] For example the servant is already trying to practice the true religion, Islam, up to his best abilities. He is all the time trying to make Allah All-Merciful happy. Allah knows this servant is a good Muslim. He All-Merciful likes him too. The servant not only performs all the obligatory actions him self, he tells others too about the correct ways of Allah. While the servant makes so much effort even then he may be leading a difficult life. When we try to analyze these difficulties we find they could have many reasons. These difficulties could be because may be the servant has to make too much effort to fight and to overcome his inner bad impulses, bad desires, bad intentions and bad thinking to submit totally to The Divine Rules set by Allah All Mighty. Or because may be to practically perfect his religion the servant has to sacrifice so much of his time, or because may be the servant has to sacrifice so much physically, emotionally, or economically that his worldly life gets affected. Or may be the servant has to put up with some opposition from the people around or there could be any other reason. This second type of hardship or test from Allah All Merciful is because Allah All-Mighty wants the servant to work harder than what he was doing before the arrival of the Test or the Hardship, to achieve His All-Mighty’s happiness. Allah wants His servant to pray more to Him and only to Him All Mighty. Allah wants His servant to thank Allah All-Merciful, more than before. Allah wants His servant to repent more than before and Allah wants His servant to ask for more forgiveness ‘astaghfar’ from Him all- Mighty than before the arrival of the Test or the Hardship. Allah puts those of His servants, to more difficult tests, whom He All Mighty loves the most. The more Allah loves His servant, the harder is the test. To understand better we can take the example of Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him. We see Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, had to go through many difficult tests, The Most Difficult Ones than any person on the earth has ever gone through. When Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, was young, he Peace Be Upon Him, had to endure the anger and hate of his father, only for the sake of Allah All-mighty. Then when Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him became adult, he Peace Be Upon Him, was put into fire only for Allah’s sake. After that, when he Peace Be Upon Him, was old, Allah ordered him Peace Be Upon Him, to leave his beloved wife, and his only, suckling son, in the cruel desert of Arabia, all alone, with out any worldly possessions, depending only on Allah. That was also for the sake of Allah All-Merciful Only. Now in our small minds, can we think that [may Allah forgive me na’oozo billah] Allah was angry with Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him? And all these Tests and Hardships [azmaishen] were [may Allah forgive me na’oozo billah] His All-Mighty’s wrath and anger ‘azab’ upon Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him? No, Allah loved Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him dearly. Allah All-Mighty loved Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, dearly because Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him was a staunch Muslim, totally submissive ‘haneef’ [yaksoo] towards Allah All-Merciful. The words ‘Haneef and Yaksoo’ mean ‘to be Totally Submissive towards Allah’. It means that Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him prayed and worked hard single mindedly to achieve Only One Goal all his life, and that was the happiness of Allah All-mighty. Allah knows even the smallest work done in this world and Allah does not waste even a smallest work done for His Happiness. Allah rewards His that servant generously who works for the love of Allah Most Generous. We humans are not capable of even imagining His All Mighy’s generosity in the real sense because most of the time in our petty busy lives we do not fully comprehend The Vastness of Allah’s Capabilities, His Greatnesses and His Generosities. Allah All-mighty called Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him “The Leader” “Imam” of all mankind because of all the above mentioned sacrifices Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him gave for Allah All Mighty. Also Allah gave Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, the name “Khaleel Allah”, meaning, “Allah’s friend”. All this is because Allah loves Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him so dearly, because of Allah’s intense love for Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, Allah called him His All-Mighty’s friend. This information we have from The Holy Quran.

At this point we can ask how many people we know, whom Allah called His friend? From the traditions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him, ahadith we know there are only two Prophets whom Allah called “Allah’s Friend” “Khaleel Allah”. One is Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him, and the other is the last Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. And after Prophet Ibraheem Peace Be Upon Him the ‘Leadership’ of All Mankind imamat’ is given to Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him. These honors were bestowed upon these two Prophets only, because Allah loved both of them dearly.

Thank you very much for being with me,

May Allah make our true religion easy for us to practice. Ameen. And may Allah make our lives easier for us all. Ameen.

Allah hafiz,

Samia.
