In 2nd Hijri Ka’aba was again made Qiblah by Allah All-Mighty

Quran Chapter- 2, Sipara: ‘Sayaqool’, Sura: ‘Al- Baqarah’,

Verse 143: And We (Allah the Most Merciful) made the Qiblah (prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger (Muhammad PBUH) from those who would turn on their heels (i.e. disobey the Messenger), indeed it was great (heavy) except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost (i.e. your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly, Allah is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind.

Explanation: We all know that the Qiblah, the prayer direction, of Muslims all over the world is towards Masjidul Haram, Mecca. When Islam was revealed in Mecca from the very beginning of the faith Ka’aba, which is in Mecca, was made the Qiblah by Allah the All-Merciful. Ka’aba was the Qiblah for thirteen years, but when the Messenger came to Madeena shareef, Allah changed the direction of Qiblah from Ka’aba to Masjid al Aqsa, in Jerusalem. For next sixteen or seventeen months Jerusalem was the Qiblah. Then in the 2nd year of Hijri calendar during prayers Allah changed the direction of Qiblah towards Ka’aba again. The Messenger was leading the prayers. When during the prayer Allah Ordered the Messenger to change the direction to Ka’aba in Mecca and Messenger changed his direction from the direction of Jerusalem towards the direction of Mecca. All the followers also at the same time changed their direction towards Mecca. This was a great test for the follower Muslims. Allah reassures Muslims that they will get the due rewards of those prayers as well which were offered while facing Jerusalem. But from this day onwards Qiblah, the prayer direction, will be towards Mecca till the end of this world.
