In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Quran: Chapter 1, Alif Lam Meem’, Sura: 2 ‘Al Baqarah’ ‘The Cow’, Verse 112
Verse 112: Yes, but whoever submits his face (himself) to Allah (i.e. follows Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism) and he is a, Muhsin, a good-doer then his reward is with his Lord (Allah), on such shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Notes by samia2010oct: To submits his face (himself) to Allah means to obey the divine Orders of Allah as given in His Book, Quran. In Quran Allah Orders about a certain life style to be adopted which includes everything from unwavering faith in Allah to everyday life chores for e.g. what to eat, what to drink, how to dress, whom to make close friends with, how to behave, how to earn the living, where to spend and what to spend simply how to lead one’s everyday life etc, etc.
Face includes forehead, eyes, nose, ears, mouth so all these parts of body must always be used according to Allah’s Orders and one must always dislike what Allah dislikes when using these parts of body. Mouth must eat according to Allah’s liking, tongue must say according to Allah’s liking, ears must hear according to Allah’s liking, nose must smell according to Allah’s liking, eyes must see according to Allah’s liking, and in forehead is the mind, so mind must think according to Allah’s liking, and must never astray.
Whoever submits his face (himself) to Allah, and is a good doer as well, then he will be rewarded greatly by Allah. This person’s reward will be that he will experience no fear in his life and he will experience no sadness and depression in his life. Good doer means he is good by his own independent good choice not by returning some other persons good done to him. Muhsin means to be good for Allah. The reason of doing-good should be the goodness itself, nothing else. And the rewards should be expected from Allah Only and from no one else. Muhsin does-good to those people also who did nothing for him. He expects no returns from them. If someone returns back to him with some good actions, the Muhsin appreciates the good deed of that person and takes it as a good from Allah because Allah guided that person in doing so.
This Verse is a trustworthy recipe for a free, fearless, griefless and depression free life. These ailments make life miserable. To enjoy a free, contented and satisfied life one has to submit his face to Allah and be a, Muhsin, a good-doer.
It is Big Sin, Gunaah e Kabira, not to submit one’s self to Allah. For Big Sins there is the punishment of unbearable Hell Fire.
